Where do you get all these vacant land listings from?

These listings are provided by CREA (Canadian Real Estate Association) through a service called DDF (Data Distribution Facility)

DDF is a feed of all of the real estate listings in British Columbia. To clarify, we’re only adding listings from the following real estate boards because those are the areas of BC that we service.

Association of Interior REALTORS (previously Okanagan-Mainline and Okanagan South)

So you know, we try to make searching for a particular property type easy for you. We do this by filtering the listings on this page so that you’re only going to see real estate listings for acreage & vacant land – nothing more. Note: If you’re interested in creating a custom search for yourself based on what you want, you can do that on any of our listing pages by clicking “Search/Filter Results”. What’s nice about this is you can filter by categories like:

Some of these listings don’t look like acreage?

Sometimes a listing might seem out of place. Here’s why. 

We’ve created this page by trying our best to use the DDF feed to showcase ONLY listings for acreage for sale bc. From time-to-time, the odd listing might make it into the listings feed that shouldn’t be there. If that happens, sorry! Sometimes when other REALTORS® or real estate brokerages upload their real estate listings into the DDF feed they can accidentally miscategorize them. It’s an honest mistake. You can imagine that when you’re adding dozens or hundreds of listings into the DDF feed you might make an error here and there. 

How up-to-date are these acreage listings?

Listings are updated twice a day – usually around midnight and noon. We get ‘em all ready for you twice a day so they’re ready for you when you’re searching today 🙂

Are these all the acreages for sale in British Columbia?

No. If a real estate brokerage or REALTOR® decides they don’t want their listing in the DDF feed, it won’t be on this site. There are lots of vacant land listings on the market that are not in this feed. Some of the missing acreages are represented by an agent – but there are also plenty of acreage listings that are simply not publicly listed. Sometimes people just don’t want everyone in BC, Canada and the world-at-large to know their business. BTW, we often represent those people. That’s one of many Cascadia Realty advantages.
